Here at the square we work in partnership with you to combat climate change. This means maximising our recycling efforts and constantly monitoring our carbon footprint to see how it can be reduced still further. Of course there is always room for improvement and that’s where you come in.

Please take the time to recycle as much as you can and by switching off lights and equipment when they're not in use. Not everybody is aware that equipment left on 'stand by' is still drawing power. Standby power use can be as high as 10 to 15 watts per device or more. So do please try to turn equipment right off, not half off! You should discuss this with your IT Dept first.

The aim of Green Office Week is to increase environmental awareness in the workplace, and provide practical help and advice. By taking part, not only can we all help the environment but your own organisation could benefit with leaner, greener working practices. This year's Green Office Week was a great success and you may have bumped into our friendly Polar Bear as he roamed the courtyard. He was a great ambassador for the week as it's his natural environment we are all trying to save.

We also had StreetCar in the Central Courtyard promoting car-sharing. Every StreetCar on the road can replace on average 26 privately owned cars, which helps the environment by reducing the number of cars on the road.
