"Cue for Change" Pool Tournament
1/09/2015 - 10/09/2015 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Devonshire Square is delighted to announce the beginning of a charitable partnership with the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust. The partnership will be launched with the ‘Cue for Change’ pool tournament, taking place in Devonshire Square’s beautiful, historic Western Courtyard from Tuesday 1st until Thursday 10th September.
The tournament is based on a “Winner stays on” rule with challenges taking place each day from 12.30pm to 2.30pm on two of the three pool tables, with the two remaining players battling each other to become the “winner of the day”. All three tables will be open for use for the rest of the time over the 10 day period.
The “Grand Final” will take place on Thursday 10th September at 12.30 pm when the prize giving will be conducted by European Junior Champion, Triple Jumper, Julien Allwood who aims to compete in Rio! The overall winner will enjoy a huge and delicious 4feet Giantini Cocktail offered by Devonshire Terrace Restaurant.
The games will cost £1, with all proceeds going towards supporting the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust. Founded by the Olympic double gold medallist in 2008, to support both athletes and young people, the charity focuses on getting young lives back on track by using world class athletes to engage, enable and empower disadvantaged young people.
During the whole tournament, participants and public will be able to enjoy a special £5 an item menu of food and drinks at the Hix City pop up located next to the pool tables. Hix City will also be running ‘Pop for Change’, where they will be giving out free chicken popcorn to everyone who donates to the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust.
The tournament is open to anyone and a subscription fee is not required. However, participants should register in advance by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or by contacting the DSQ Customer Experience Team based at Block6, Block9 or Block9a Receptions, reachable on the following number: 02076450866.
Non-registered participants will also be given the chance to take part to the tournament provided that there will be enough time remaining after all the pre-registered participants of that day have played.
Hurry up to book your place in the “Cue for Change”!
